Yasuhisa Ohuchi – Chef / Owner
Born in Osaka, Japan, Chef Yasu began his journey as a sushi apprentice at 17 with a dream of opening his own restaurant. Over a decade, he mastered both Edomae and Contemporary sushi styles. In 2010, he opened Nigiriya in Toronto, followed by Yasu Toronto in 2014, Canada’s first Omakase sushi bar. Recognized for his culinary excellence, he expanded to Beverly Hills in 2019. Now, Chef Yasu brings his passion to Rockpool, a restaurant dedicated to serving fresh local fish to the community in Los Angeles.
